In this post, we will cover how to deal with the big gaps on the sides of the hexagon blanket. I’ll show you what I came up with to straighten-up the half hexagons and zig-zags.
These patterns were designed specifically for the Diamond Blanket.
♥ Crochet Hook (Choose size that corresponds with the weight of your yarn),
♥ Scissors.
Dtr4tog (double treble 10 together) = [Yarn over 3 times, insert hook in indicated stitch or space and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook 3 times] 4 times, yarn over and draw through all 5 loops on hook.
Row 1: ch 4, tr in each dc stitch of hexagon side, skip corner stitches and puff stitches, tr in each dc stitch of next hexagon side, skip corner stitches and puff stitches, tr in each dc stitch of next hexagon side, skip corner stitches and puff stitches, tr in corner. (9 tr stitches in each side.)
Row 2: ch 4, turn, [skip 2 stitches, tr 5, skip 2 stitches] 3 times, tr in ch4-space. (5 tr stitches in each side.)
Row 3: ch 4, turn, dtr10tog. (Insert hook in 1st, 3rd and 5th stitches of each side, then insert hook in ch-4 space of previous row.)
Repeat these three rows for each half hexagon.
