Gauge

19 stitches dc = 4” (10 cm); 11 rows dc = 4” (10 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Special Stitches

A = dc2tog (double crochet 2 together) = [Yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch or space and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
U = 2 dc in 1 st.
V = dc, ch, dc (dc stitches are crocheted in the same ch space).
X (type 1) 6 stitches crossed. The first three ones are FPtr and the second three ones are BPtr.
X (type 2) 6 FPtr stitches crossed.

Notes

1. The sweater is crocheted up down in three sections:
- Section 1: from neck to bust.
- Section 2: from bust to hip.
- Section 3: arms.
2. A, U and dc stitches are crocheted through both loops.
3. V stitch is crocheted in ch space.
4. There are two types of X stitches, as described above. These stitches are used for four times in each of odd rows (3, 5, 7…). The first and the second ones are type 1. The third and fourth ones are type 2.
5. To avoid cutting yarn between section 1 and 2, cut a little bit of yarn before starting. You will use it to join corners in section 2.
